Health is multifactorial and maintaining it is very complicated.
These products come up frequently and they never are what they are promised because, 1 thing cannot control a whole cascade of chemical reactions that occur in an organism as complicated as we are so completely.
This way of thinking is no different from the Allopathic reductionist model just using a different chemical.
People might improve after taking this product but more than likely because it is the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle than anything else.

I don't have an opinion about the efficacy of Antioxidants. I don't know enough about the subject.
References :
NZ registered Osteopath.

Mangosteen is a tropical fruit that is touted to have all sorts of magical healing properties and as you say, be the most powerful antioxidant ever discovered.

The role of antioxidants at the level of consumption by humans has actually NEVER been demonstrated. The entire idea of antioxidants being beneficial for health is purely speculative based on in vitro studies (test tubes). There are no animal studies that support the use either.

It is just a fruit. Antioxidants (whether or not they even work at all) quickly degrade after any fruit is harvested and even more when it is processed.
References :
Just the facts, Jack
Giving me a thumbs down doesn't change reality.

Yep, you pretty much covered it. Mangosteen is grown in parts of Asia, has Xanthones (which are great antioxidants), the antioxidant support helps to protect the cells from all sorts of troubles.
As far as the Xango, it is basically just like any other Mangosteen juice... just some different "other fruits" for flavoring and likely more than twice the price as the others (you seldom taste a lot of the Mangosteen itself). That being said, Mangosteen in general is very beneficial for overall health, and we have hundreds of customers that buy various Mangosteen products.

Most Multi-Level Marketing companies jack the price way up to pay for all the people that were hired above the person that sells it to you, not to mention all their advertising. It's best to do the research before buying anything that expensive.

Does that help? Feel free to E-mail me any other questions.
References :
I'm a Product Specialist for a vitamin company and I've worked with MLMs before

Mangosteens come from Thailand and they heal just about everything but it is rare to find them because they are illegal to grow in the US.
References :
Mangosteen juice has a lot of good nutrients in it. So I don't think it could hurt to drink it.

As far as checking on the Xango site, they are a multi-level marketing firm. Everything they have to say is going to be positive about mangosteen. As I said it has good nutrients but I can't see it as a miracle worker. It does have some anti-inflammatory properties but it is a very expensive anti-inflammatory in my opinion.

If after doing research you decide to use this for your health, there are cheaper brands than Xango available.
References :
Maybe. I'm not too sure on it, but remember supplements are supplements. They are designed to supplement your diet (or I should say healthy eating), and nothing more. But personally I would say just stick to the traditional healthy eating, cardio and resistance trainng and you'll be fine.

The ingredients are listed from most to least, and the mangosteen fruit is listed as number one.

The other juices are added to give it a great taste. XanGo uses the whole fruit of the mangosteen including the rind which is very bitter but most of the health benefits are in the rind. But the mangosteen is the first ingredient listed on the label.
References :
it's mainly mangosteen, the whole thing - skin, pericarp, and the edible part. the other fruits are in there to offset the bitterness of the mangosteen rind, but i would think that if the edible part of the mangosteen is so delicious, that would do the trick instead of adding so many fruit juices.
References :
drinker and distributor
